Foo Fighters is an American rock band from Seattle, United States. Foo Fighters formed in 1994. Currently, Foo Fighters consisted of Dave Grohl (lead vocal), Nate Mendel (bass), Pat Smear (rhythm), Chris Shiflett (guitar) and Taylor Hawkins (drum). Foo Fighters' musical style influenced by alternative rock, hard rock and post-grunge. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters. Foo Fighters has released seven studio albums, where four of them won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. Total, Foo Fighters won ten Grammy Awards. Foo Fighters also considered as current best rock band in the world.
Foo Fighters founded by Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the death of Nirvana's frontman Kurt Cobain which made Nirvana abandoned. Dave Grohl later recruited some additional member and formed Foo Fighters. Their debut album released in 1995, one year after Nirvana's break. Foo Fighters got mainstream success after released The Colour and the Shape in 1997, and There Is Nothing Left to Lose in 1999. They gained worldwide reputations in late of 1990s and considered as one of the greatest rock bands of the 90s. Some of their biggest single in 1990s such My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Learn To Fly and Everlong.
Foo Fighters released its fourth album, One by One in 2002. This album won Best Rock Album in Grammy Awards. Three years later, the group followed that release with the two-disc In Your Honor, which was split between acoustic songs and heavier material. Their sixth studio albums, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, released in 2007. The album's lead single, The Pretender, won Best Hard Rock Performance in Grammy Awards. The latest Foo Fighters' album, Wasting Light released in 2011.
