Bon Jovi is an American rock band. Bon Jovi formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey, US. The name of the band picked up from their vocalist's name. Bon Jovi's line-up consists of lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, bassist Hugh McDonald, keyboardist David Bryan, and drummer Tico TorresThis line-up has remained during its history, except in 1994. Bon Jovi's musical style has generally been characterized as hard rock, pop metal, country rock and also pop rock. And now, Bon Jovi is considered as one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, with their selling records more than 130 million records world-wide.

Bon Jovi released their debut album in 1984, following by the second album in 1985 titled 7800 degree Fahrenheit. But they were achieved widespread global recognition with their third album, Slippery When Wet in 1986. It was followed by band's fourth album, New Jersey in 1988, with equally successful. With two international succesful albums, Bon Jovi considered as one of the greatest artist of the 1980s.

In 1994, Bon Jovi released compilation album titled Cross Road. This album later became the best-selling album in UK in 1994. Between 1986 to 1995, Bon Jovi had four number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100 and total thirteen song in US Top 40. Some of their greatest hits in that era such Bad Medicine, You Give Love a Bad Name, Bed of Roses, Always and also Livin' on a Prayer, which recognized as the greatest Bon Jovi song.

Bon Jovi continue their mainstream succesful in 2000s, with lead single It's My Life which released in 2000. This single help introduce Bon Jovi to teenagers with different musical style. Bon Jovi released five studio albums in 2000s, such Crush (2000), Bounce (2002), Have a Nice Day (2005), Lost Highway (2007) and The Circle (2009). On March 12, 2013, Bon Jovi released their latest and 12th studio album, What About Now. Until now, Bon Jovi has released 12 studio albums, 2 live albums and 3 compilation albums.
