Metallica Albums and Biography
Metallica is an American heavy metal band. Metallica formed in Los Angeles, California, United States in 1981. They consist of James Hetfield (vocal and guitar), Lars Ulrich (drum), Kirk Hammet (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass), who joined Metallica in 2003. There are some previous members who left the band. They are Dave Mustaine (later joined Megadeth), Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton, and Jason Newsted. Metallica influenced by heavy metal and trash metal music. The band considered as the founder of thrash metal music, alongside three other bands, Megadeth, Slayer also Anthrax. They often referred as big four of thrash metal.
Metallica formed in 1981. First name of the band was The Young of Metal Attack. But next couple months, the band's name changed became Metallica. Its is believed that this name created by combine two words, Metal and Vodka. Later, Metallica released their first album Kill 'Em All in 1983. Their first four albums receive critical acclaim. Their third albums, Master of Puppets (1986) described as one of the most influential and heavy trash metal albums of all time.
After the fourth albums, Metallica expanded their musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience. In 1990s, Metallica released three albums. Their fifth album titled Metallica (1991) has sold over 16 million copies in the United States, making it the best-selling album of the SoundScan era. It also produced some of Metallica greatest hits such Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters and Sad But True. In 2000s, Metallica released two studio albums, St Anger in 2003 and in 2008, Death Magnetic. It was the latest album of Metallica. Until now, Metallica has released 9 studio albums, 4 live albums and some compilations albums.
